K5 was the fifth album by Dalla, released in 2013. The title is short for ‘Kabm Pemp’ which is Cornish for ‘Step Five’. The Cornish five-step is a very popular Cornish dance in five time.
Dalla are the internationally acclaimed leading proponents of traditional Cornish Celtic music. Their music features harmony songs of joy and heartbreak – in Cornish and in English, and mesmerising multi-instrumental Cornish dance rhythms. Instruments featured on this album include bouzouki, mandolin, fiddle, clarinet, bass clarinet, viola, accordian, mandola, whistles, crowdy crawn, scoots, darabuka and gaita bagpipes.
