Cribbar was the fourth album by Dalla, released in 2010. ‘The Cribbar’ is a giant wave which breaks off Newquay, Cornwall at certain times of year.
Dalla are the internationally acclaimed leading proponents of traditional Cornish Celtic music. Their music features harmony songs of joy and heartbreak – in Cornish and in English, and mesmerising multi-instrumental Cornish dance rhythms. Instruments featured on this album include bouzouki, mandolin, fiddle, clarinet, bass clarinet, Indian harmonium, viola, accordian, crowdy crawn, scoots, darabuka and gaita bagpipes. This album also features a special guest appearance by Cornish singing group The Perraners.
‘Dalla return for a further persuasive invocation of the magic of Cornwall; Cribbar is a lively and compelling portrait of its music and traditions.’ (fRoots)
